Joy has been doing pottery since she was a kid, taking lessons from her now mother-in-law who passed down Joy’s first tiny kiln.
Joy’s mom still has a teddy bear and dice that 7 year old Joy made from the natural clay she discovered in her Grandpa’s backyard stream.
The name EARTHENjoy came naturally from a combination of the artist’s name and favorite type of clay, earthenware. The fact that the word “enjoy” is in there sealed the deal in naming the business.
Joy has always found getting her hands dirty in clay to be therapeutic and grounding, which has continued to be the case during this pandemic.
